RENZ AT DRUPA

Motivated by the motto “inspire”, Renz a world-market leader and innovator in the field of wire comb and spiral binding has showcased exciting new systems for punching and binding at this year’s Drupa.   With the competition presenting little to no innovations in new equipment during the show, Renz has set itself apart with more than 50% of the stand showcasing new innovative equipment developed to increase productivity, profitability and to increase competitiveness of our customers.

A special focus was on equipment processing short run, medium to large sized volumes where traditionally manual or partially automated systems have been used. These new products from RENZ addressed the On Demand nature of the market which needs equipment that reduces production times with the least possible operator intervention.

The new RENZ AP300 Compact proved a great success with a large amount of interest during the show and multiple units sold worldwide.

The AP300 Compact incorporates a high in-feed pile capacity of up to 4,000 sheets, interchangeable dies, quiet operation and a small footprint in combination with an unattended production process, the AP 300 Compact increases both productivity and efficiency without incurring increased labour costs.

 

Also attracting a considerable amount of interest was the new inline concept the “RENZ Inline 500 Compact” which is expected to be available for delivery by Quarter 3 2016.

The Inline Compact incorporates a 500mm wide punch and binding station which are connected by an automatic transfer station. The machine is capable of punching and binding calendars and book blocks in various thicknesses at speeds up to 1200 binds/hour with a single operator.

The operator feeds the block into the punching section of the machine and presses the foot pedal to activate, the block is punched and then automatically transported into the transfer station which then moves the block to the binding module where a ring wire is inserted and closed before the completed book is ejected out onto the exit conveyor.

For thicker documents that require the book block to be split for punching the machine can be programmed so each section is collected in the transfer station before the block is moved to the binding module for finishing.
